Amazing pastries. Highly recommend their French bagette with butter and jelly, I am addicted to this simple yet magnífic artisan French roll. Their cookies are so delicious that one must careful not to eat them all. My favorite breakfast is the French roll with butter and their ice latte. The perfect combination. The best part was the customer service. It has become so rare. Come here and enjoy 😉 😘
Amazing and welcoming staff, helped recommend some amazing cookies for my first time there! Got a caramel coconut chocolate chip cookie and a dark chocolate peanut butter chip cookie. Service was fast and the atmosphere was great! There was even some seating inside too (roughly 5 stools), but most received their cookies and left. For ~$5 a cookie, it’s a generous portion! I couldn’t even finish one cookie in a day personally. Highly recommend! 10/10 all around
Recent addition in Abbot Kinney this Levain is as good as the other locations, and definitely worth a stop to enjoy a lot of different baked goods. Although known for their cookies, they do offer much more with loaf cakes, bread and baguettes as well as different pastries and brioches. Both the blueberry and chocolate chip brioches are among my personal favorite They open early and close late (10pm) so you can enjoy fresh baked goods all day long!
I've always heard about how popular Levain is and I finally had the chance to go check it out. I got the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie which was a seasonal item, and a hot apple cider. Both of them were top notch. The cookie was huge and crispy on the outside while still soft and gooey on the inside. It was incredible.
We recently picked up an assortment of four different cookies from this delightful spot, each one was a treat. The cookies struck a perfect balance, being both thick and fluffy, which created a wonderful texture that I haven't experienced before. Among our selections, the standout was definitely the signature Venice cookie. Parking in the area can be a bit tricky. I recommend checking the side streets, as you might find a free spot available without too much hassle.
Wow! The best cookies ever! Not sure if they can actually be called cookies. Probably more like mini cookie cakes. I tried the chocolate chip walnut, dark chocolate chip, and rocky road. All three are fantabulous!
I hadn't had a Levain cookie since at the original location in UWS in NYC in over ten years. This was such a treat. Delicious room temp or heated, even the next day or day after. Pricey but worth it. Great customer service, too. Validated parking in the alley garage.

As a longtime cookie fanatic, I couldn’t wait to check out Levain’s new spot on Abbot Kinney—and it did not disappoint. The space is bright and inviting, with huge windows that flood the bakery with sunlight and a whimsical mural that brings a bit of Venice beach vibes indoors. I loved being able to watch the bakers pull fresh trays out of the street-facing ovens while I waited in line. The cookies are everything they’re hyped up to be. The classic Chocolate Chip Walnut is crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle, and the limited-edition Black-and-White cookie available only at this location is decadent and perfect for anyone who loves dark cocoa and white chocolate. I also appreciated that they offer vegan/gluten-free versions and seasonal flavors. Beyond cookies, there’s a surprisingly large menu of loaf cakes, sticky buns (weekends only), muffins, breads, and even savory sandwiches. Their partnership with Canyon Coffee means the espresso drinks are on point an excellent pairing with something sweet. Yes, the cookies are pricey, but each one is huge and easily shareable. Seating is limited so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot, but the staff keeps the lines moving and everyone is friendly. Parking can be tricky on Abbot Kinney, so plan ahead. Overall, Levain brings something special to Venice. If you have a sweet tooth or just want to try a cult-favorite cookie fresh from the oven, this bakery is absolutely worth the visit! A big shout out to Michael for all of the amazing recommendations and we’re answering all of my questions about the cooking and about what they serve in the summer.
I am new to Levain Bakery, but I’ve heard about them for so long that I feel like I’ve been eating it for years. It was started in 1995 in NYC and I know that this is their second West Coast location. The Larchmont one opened in 2023, but I procrastinated in trying it. I live very close to this location so I stopped in this weekend and honestly really enjoyed it. I will admit I am not a huge fan of the cookies because I like a gooey soft cookie and these are more dense and less chewy but I also tried some of their sandwiches and thought they were fantastic. For this visit I chose the Tomato & Burrata as well as the Honey and Jam. Inside is pretty small and doesn’t have seating so the only option is to go. The server helping us was very polite and made my sandwich on the spot right after I ordered. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot, however, street parking is not that hard to find or you can park in the alley in between this building and Erewhon. The line can get quite long at certain times so just be aware if stopping in during peak times. I would recommend and I plan to be back in the future to try more items.
